Ready for the
new generation

1913

The Hessen-Nassau Ironworks Association, then the largest employer in the Oberhessen region, founded the Breidenbach plant as a cupola foundry.

1935

Buderus, founded in 1731 by Johann Wilhelm Buderus, takes over the Hessen-Nassau Ironworks Association, making the Breidenbach plant a Buderus foundry.

1948

Began custom casting for the automotive industry; evolved into a supplier for the automotive sector with a broad product range.

1963

Started manufacturing solid brake discs. In the mid-1960s, began producing ventilated brake discs and increasing automation of manufacturing processes.

1973-1980

Expanded into the most modern and efficient serial foundry in the Buderus Group; specialized in automotive casting.

1991

Consolidated foundry activities under Buderus Guss GmbH; continued expansion and specialization in ready-to-install brake disc manufacturing.

2003

Buderus AG becomes a subsidiary of Robert Bosch GmbH, founded in 1886.

2009

Launch of Buderus lightweight brake discs in series production.

2010

Commissioned the dry dust extraction system, Europe's most advanced gas purification system for cupola furnaces.

2011/2012

Significant expansion of foundry capacities; further development of mechanical processing.

2017/18

Started series production of the innovative fine dust-reducing brake disc, "iDisc."

2024

Since May 1, 2024, Buderus Guss GmbH has been part of the AEQUITA industrial group based in Munich. Renaming of the company, which will now operate under the name Breyden.
