Responsibility for the next generation

With our passion for exploration, we also carry a deep appreciation for nature. Sustainability is therefore a central driver of everything we do: for the environment, for people and for economic future. As a responsible employer, Breyden has been investing sustainably in environmental protection measures since the 1970s, reducing noise as well as CO₂ and dust emissions for the surrounding communities.
Our
responsibility

CO2-Emissionen
On the way to sustainable production
Breyden manufactures its products in three foundries on nine vertical molding lines. Today, most of these lines are supplied by medium-frequency furnaces with molten iron. In the coming years, further investments will replace the last remaining cupola furnace with highly efficient electric furnaces. The goal is to make the entire production process more sustainable without compromising quality or precision. Step by step, this brings us closer to the vision of a climate-friendly, modern production facility.

Dust Emissions
Reducing Our emissions to avoid pollution
To sustainably reduce emissions, we continuously invest in modern cleaning technologies. These measures already significantly lower exhaust gases and improve air quality at the workplace. Further investments will continue to make the entire production process even more environmentally friendly.

Green Electricity
Out of deep appreciation for nature
Breyden is passionate about leading the way and exploring new paths. That’s why, out of consideration for the environment, we have been using 100% green electricity since 2019. We will continue and expand this green path in the future.

Sustainable Products
Resource-saving materials and environmentally friendly product solutions
Another focus of our work is to establish sustainable products in the market. Our products are made from nearly 100% recycled material, giving old products a new, second, or even third life.
Brake Components: With the launch of our iDisc I in 2017, we introduced a brake disc that produces up to 90% less fine dust and is significantly more durable than conventional grey cast iron discs. With the iDisc II, we will continue this path, producing Euro 7-compliant, fine-dust-reduced brake discs in large series.
